    1867 Ten Dollar in Copper
    Judd-602, PR62 Brown

1867 $10 Ten Dollar, Judd-602, Pollock-667, High R.7, PR62 Brown NGC. Regular dies trial striking of the 1867 Liberty eagle. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. As Saul points out on the USPatterns.com website: "Although described as regular dies trial pieces, this was more likely deliberately struck for sale to collectors as part of complete copper sets." However, only a half-dozen pieces are believed known. The proof fields on this example display remarkably deep reflectivity in spite of the thick layers of brown and blue patina seen over each side.
