Description

PR63 Longacre 1867 Five Cent, Judd-561

1867 5C Five Cents, Judd-561, Pollock-622, R.5, PR63 ANACS. Liberty faces left and is adorned with a headdress featuring four feathers and four stars. Liberty's profile greatly resembles the contemporary Indian cent, gold dollar, and three dollar portraits. Chief Engraver Longacre immodestly placed his full surname in small letters beneath the portrait. The reverse depicts an ornate shield with a superimposed large Roman numeral V. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. A flashy and precisely struck specimen with delicate chestnut toning. Certified in an ANA cache holder.

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29M4, PCGS# 60771, Greysheet# 13042)
