    Choice Mint State 1867 Judd-566 Five Cent Pattern

    1867 5C Five Cents, Judd-566, Pollock-627, Low R.6, MS64 PCGS. The obverse is similar in design to the contemporary Three Cent Nickel although in larger format due to the wider diameter. The reverse features an olive wreath bound by a ribbon, with the denomination at the center and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST from 11 to 1 o'clock. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. A crisply struck if slightly subdued example, originally toned in medium golden-brown and pearl-gray hues.
