    Near-Mint 1867 Five Cents, Judd-570

1867 5C Five Cents, Judd-570, Pollock-640, R.5, PR58 NGC. The obverse design resembles the contemporary three cent nickel, but in larger scale. The reverse displays the denomination within a laurel wreath. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. The scarcer subvariety (per Pollock) with the 7 in the date nearly touching the portrait. Medium cream-gray and orange toning graces this unblemished near-Mint pattern. The luster is diminished, but highpoint wear is elusive.
