    1868 Longacre Ten Dollar in Copper, Judd-662

    1868 $10 Ten Dollar, Judd-662, Pollock-735, 737, Low R.7, PR64 Brown NGC. The obverse features a left facing bust of Liberty by James Barton Longacre. Thirteen stars are arranged around the border, and the date is below. An eagle with outstretched wings dominates the reverse design. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST is on a scroll in the upper field, the legend and the denomination are near the periphery. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This specimen mixes die striations with wispy hairlines and is a light reddish-brown color with occasional mint-green accents.
