Pattern 1868 Seated Dime, Judd-641
1868 10C Ten Cents, Judd-641, Pollock-713, R.7, PR 64 PCGS. The obverse is similar to that used on regular issue 1868 Seated dimes, but the date has been omitted from the field below Liberty's portrait. The reverse displays the denomination ONE DIME and the date 1868 within Longacre's cereal wreath. A six-pointed star is also enclosed within the wreath above the denomination. Struck in nickel with a reeded edge. This lilac-tinted near-Gem is moderately cameoed with smooth surfaces. A sharply struck survivor of this rare pattern delivery.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29NW, PCGS# 60859, GSID# 13113)
