1868 Cent Pattern in Copper
Judd-606, PR64+ Brown
Ex: Green-Newman

1868 1C Cent, Judd-606, Pollock-671, Snow-PT2b, Low R.7, PR64+ Brown NGC. CAC. The obverse is similar to that of the issued three cent nickel. The reverse bears the wreath of the issued three dollar gold piece. The denomination is expressed on the reverse as a single plain Roman column. Struck in copper with a plain edge. Teichman has identified nine specimens. Mahogany-brown and olive-green patina graces this pleasing near-Gem. The centers show incompleteness of strike, though peripheral elements are bold. Exemplary for the designated grade.
