Description
1868 1C One Cent, Judd-612, Pollock-677, R.7, PR62 PCGS. The obverse and reverse dies are the same design used on regular-issue 1868 cents. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. The fields are deeply reflective and there is significant contrast on each side, but extensive oxidation on each side accounts for the grade. As with regular issue 1868 proof cents, sometimes examples of this pattern are also found with a medallic alignment; however, this piece has a nearly perfect coin alignment.
