    Description

Lovely Judd-605 Cent Pattern, Finest Certified by NGC

1868 1C One Cent, Judd-605, Pollock-670, R.6, PR66 NGC. A needle-sharp example of this scarce pattern, which strongly resembles the contemporary Three Cent Nickel. The denomination is specified by the Roman numeral 1 instead of the usual ONE CENT. The 1 in the date is lightly repunched. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. The variegated golden-brown and olive patina is both original and attractive, and the surfaces are seemingly pristine aside from a miniscule carbon fleck or two. Population: 1 in 66, none finer (7/03).
From the Holman Family Collection. (#60817)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29MX, PCGS# 60817)
