    Description

    Diminutive 1868 Pattern Cent, Judd-606

1868 1C One Cent, Judd-606, Pollock-671, Low R.7, PR63 Red and Brown PCGS. A Pattern Cent with an obverse similar to the contemporary Three Cent Nickel design, and a reverse with a large Roman numeral I in the center surrounded by a wreath. Struck in copper with a plain edge. The date is entered too high, and the second 8 is partly buried in Liberty's lower hair curls. Deep, multicolored hues decorate the surfaces and the fields retain good reflectivity as the coin turns under a light.
