Description

Judd-608 Pattern 1868 Cent in PCGS PR65

1868 1C One Cent, Judd-608, Pollock-673, R.5, PR65 PCGS. Liberty head design, similar to that used on regular issue Three Cent Nickels, with a Roman numeral I in a laurel wreath on the reverse. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. This pleasingly original Gem is toned in tan-gray shades that still allow appreciation of the moderately reflective finish at direct angles. The fully brought up features do not reveal many distractions--as one would expect for the assigned grade. A tiny fleck in the right reverse field, however, is noted.
From the Lynch Collection.
