Description

1868 Three Cent Nickel in Copper
Judd-619, PR65 Brown

1868 3C Three Cent Nickel, Judd-619, Pollock-688, Low R.7, PR65 Brown PCGS. CAC. Much like the regular issue three cent nickel, but the wreath is further from the reverse rim, and the Roman numerals on the reverse are smooth and without ribs. Struck in copper with a plain edge. The blue toning gives this piece a distinctive appearance, although its copper composition becomes more evident when it is tilted away from the light. Each side is sharp and deeply reflective, with outstanding eye appeal, as is fitting for the CAC endorsement.
Ex: David Lawrence on eBay (11/2016).
