    Description

1868 Pattern Three Cent Nickel, PR 64 PCGS

1868 3CN Three Cent Nickel, Judd-618, Pollock-687, R.5, PR 64 PCGS. Similar to the regular issue three cent nickel, but the devices on both sides are set in larger fields. In addition, the Roman numerals on the reverse are smooth and without ribs. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. This is a bright, essentially untoned example whose smooth surfaces are at the threshold of a full Gem grade.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29NA, PCGS# 60834)
