1868 Five Cent Pattern in Nickel
    Judd-633, Untoned PR66 Ultra Cameo

1868 5C Five Cents, Judd-633, Pollock-705, R.4, PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC. The obverse is a larger variant of the three cent nickel design, while the reverse has a large V in the center surrounded by a laurel wreath and a small Maltese cross at the top. IN GOD WE TRUST is on a ribbon around the cross. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. The "high date" Pollock variant of this pattern, and is the more frequently encountered of the two date variants. This is a deeply mirrored example with thick mint frost over the devices that produces the inevitable cameo contrast on each side.

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
