Gem 1868 Half Dime Struck in Nickel Alloy, Judd-638
1868 H10C Half Dime, Judd-638, Pollock-710, Low R.6, MS65 PCGS. Regular die trials striking of the 1868 Half Dime, struck in nickel with a plain edge. Exquisitely struck, the lightly toned surfaces exhibit prominent clash marks, as made. Although the fields are mildly prooflike, cartwheel luster is also in evidence. The only known business strike example of this elusive issue.(#60856)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29NU, PCGS# 60856, GSID# 13199)
