    1869 Standard Silver Ten Cents in Copper
    Judd-704, PR65 Red and Brown
    The Only Red and Brown Piece Graded

    1869 10C Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-704, Pollock-783, R.7, PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. Standard Silver design with the head of Liberty facing right with a diadem in her hair, motto below, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above. The reverse has 10 CENTS in the center, surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel, with STANDARD SILVER 1869 around the margin. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This year and design combination was also struck in silver and aluminum, both reeded and plain edge variants. One is hard pressed to see the brown on this piece. Each side is deep cherry-red with a few tiny flecks of carbon noted on the reverse.
