1869 Standard Silver Ten Cents in Copper
    Judd-710, PR64 Brown

1869 10C Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-710, Pollock-789, Low R.7, PR64 Brown PCGS. CAC. Standard Silver issue with only one star at the front of Liberty's head on the obverse. The reverse has 10 CENTS in the center, surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel with STANDARD SILVER 1869 around the margin. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Struck also in silver and aluminum, reeded and plain edges. About a dozen copper / reeded edge examples are known, making examples such as this the logical choice for type purposes when just one example is needed of this obverse / reverse combination. Each side displays deep chocolate-brown patina and the strike is incompletely brought up in several areas.
