    1869 Standard Silver Dime in Copper
    Judd-710, Beautifully Toned PR64 Brown

    1869 10C Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-710, Pollock-789, Low R.7, PR64 Brown PCGS. Standard Silver issue with only one star at the front of Liberty's head on the obverse. The reverse has 10 CENTS in the center, surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel with STANDARD SILVER 1869 around the margin. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. About a dozen pieces are known in this composition and with a reeded edge. Pieces were also produced in silver and aluminum, with both reeded and plain edges. The surfaces display muted reddish-brown color with highly appealing multicolor toning seen on the obverse.
