1869 Standard Silver Quarter, Judd-721, PR65

1869 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-721, Pollock-802,
R.5, PR65 NGC. CAC. Ex: Bass/ANA Museum Display. A Liberty bust
faces right on the reverse, sporting a Phrygian cap topped with
three five-pointed stars. A ribbon with LIBERTY drapes behind her
neck, and a scroll reading IN GOD WE TRUST is below. The reverse
shows 25 CENTS centered in a small oak and laurel wreath with
STANDARD SILVER above and the date 1869 below. Struck in silver
with a reeded edge. These pieces were apparently sold in nine-piece
sets (dime, quarter, and half dollar in copper, silver, and
aluminum; plain or reeded edges) by the Mint. This lovely Gem proof
shows a few die lines and straight contact marks that appear only
under a loupe amid the amber-gold, copper, and mint-green patina.
