1869 Three Cent Silver in Aluminum
    Judd-682, PR64

1869 3C Three Cent Silver, Judd-682, Pollock-761, High R.7, PR64 PCGS. Ex: Simpson. Regular three cent silver dies. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. Off-metal sets for the year 1869 were produced in copper, nickel, and aluminum. They were made for sale to collectors rather than as metallurgical or dies trials. Fewer than a half dozen Judd-682 representatives exist, according to USPatterns.com. This Choice proof lacks even the slightest suggestion of color. A few hairlines barely limit the grade.
