Radiant 1869 Pattern Three Cent Nickel
1869 3CN Three Cent Nickel, Judd-676, Pollock-753, R.5, PR66 NGC. Similar to the adopted design except that the surface of the Roman numeral is smooth and the date larger. Distinguished from the other three cent nickel pattern of this year by the presence of short reverse dentils and a longer ribbon tip. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. Untoned and pleasingly reflective, this is a pristine example that is comfortably at home at the PR66 grade level.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29PV, PCGS# 60901, GSID# 13347)
