    Description

Proof Cameo Gem, 1869 Three Cent Nickel, Judd-676

    1869 3CN Three Cent Nickel, Judd-676, Pollock-753, 755, R.5, PR65 Cameo PCGS.
From The New Millennium Collection. Similar to the contemporary Three Cent Nickel, except the date is larger and the denomination pillars are smooth. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. Nicely struck with rich lilac-gray patina. This well preserved Gem is free of bothersome hairlines and contact marks. There are a few tiny, scattered planchet flaws (as made), most notably on the reverse, on all three pillars of the Roman Numeral III in the denomination. Each side displays some wispy die striations (as struck) in the fields. (#60901)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29PV, PCGS# 60901)
