1869 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-742, Pollock-823, R.5-6, PR 64 PCGS. A bust of Liberty wearing a cap ornamented with two stars faces right, the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounds the figure, and a scroll with IN GOD WE TRUST is below. The reverse has 50 CENTS centered within a wreath of oak and laurel leaves with STANDARD SILVER above and the date 1869 below. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. An originally toned survivor, the surfaces display mottled lavender-gray and cobalt-blue toning. The reflective qualities, as well as brighter apricot and electric-blue iridescence, are only visible at certain angles.
