Standard Silver 1869 Half Dollar Pattern
Judd-743, PR63
1869 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-743, Pollock-824,
High R.6, PR63 PCGS. A bust of Liberty faces right and wears a
cap ornamented with large stars. A ribbon inscribed LIBERTY rests
on her shoulder. IN GOD WE TRUST resides within a scroll below, and
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA encircles her head. On the reverse,
STANDARD SILVER is centered above the familiar wreath of cotton and
corn. 50 CENTS is placed within the wreath, and the date is located
beneath. William Barber's initial B is recut above the L in
LIBERTY, which is also recut, and somewhat softly struck. Struck in
silver with a plain edge. Much brilliance is seen on each side
along with golden-brown and blue toning.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29ST, PCGS# 60971, GSID# 13350)
