    1869 Standard Silver Half Dollar, PR64
    Struck in Aluminum, Judd-746

    1869 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-746, 828, Low R.7, PR64 PCGS. Standard Silver design with Liberty wearing a cap with two stars and scroll below, the reverse reads STANDARD SILVER 1869 around the rim with 50 CENTS in the center of an oak and laurel wreath. Struck in aluminum with a reeded edge. No more than six of these Judd-746 patterns are extant. The dies are slightly rotated, as usual. Faintly dusky but otherwise brilliant surfaces display partial contrast. Minor cracking / flaking is noted inside the upper left wreath and on the rim at 10 o'clock.
