Impressive Gem Ultra Cameo 1869 Standard Silver Half in Silver, Judd-749
1869 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-749, Pollock-832, High R.6, PR65 Ultra Cameo NGC. Standard Silver half with Liberty on the obverse facing right, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above, and the motto below. The reverse has 50 CENTS in the center, surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel with STANDARD SILVER above and the date below. Struck in silver with a plain edge. This is a fully brilliant example that shows essentially unmarred surfaces. The fields are exceptionally deep in their mirrored reflectivity and the devices are heavily frosted, thus earning this impressive coin the Ultra Cameo designation. Fewer than a dozen pieces are believed known of this pattern striking, and this undoubtedly is the most visually impressive of those extant.(#60978)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29SY, PCGS# 60978, GSID# 13362)
