Description

1870 Seated Liberty Ten Cents in Copper, Judd-828

1870 Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-828, Pollock-918, R.6-7, PR 64 Red PCGS. A second representative of William Barber's Liberty Seated design, with identical obverse and reverse features as the preceding. Struck in copper as well, but with a reeded edge. The example offered here is considerably finer than the plain edge specimen. While only modestly reflective, the surfaces are tinged in subtle iridescence and are free from unsightly carbon.
From the Gene Wolfe Collection of Pattern Coinage.
