    1870 Standard Silver Ten Cents, PR64
    Rare Judd-842 Variety in Aluminum

    1870 10C Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-842, Pollock-934, High R.7, PR64 PCGS. On the obverse, Liberty wears a cap with three stars and has flowing hair, a scroll, inscribed with the legend IN GOD WE TRUST, is below, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA encircles. The reverse shows 10 CENTS and the date inside a wreath of cotton and corn, with STANDARD above. One of fewer than half a dozen known that are struck in aluminum with a plain edge. Bright bluish-gray patina blankets each side, revealing sharp motifs that provide subtle contrast with the mirrored fields. No environmental impairments are observed. Housed in a first generation holder. Population: 1 in 64, 3 finer (4/15).
