    1870 Standard Silver Dime Pattern
    Judd-843, Brilliant PR65

1870 10C Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-843, Pollock-942, Low R.6, PR65 NGC. The obverse features the head of Liberty with a diadem in her hair and no stars on the tiara. A scroll with IN GOD WE TRUST curves beneath the bust rather than the date, which is shown on the reverse. The reverse conveys simplicity of design with 10 CENTS in the center, surrounded by a wreath of cotton and corn and with STANDARD above. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. This is a brilliant example with lovely surfaces. The obverse displays a slightly pebbly texture and appears to have been struck from rusted dies.
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2007), lot 3021.
