    1870 William Barber Quarter in Copper
    Judd-885, PR65 Red and Brown

    1870 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-885, Pollock-983, R.6-7, PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. The obverse depicts a William Barber portrait of Liberty seated left with 13 stars around the periphery and the date 1870 below. The reverse is the same used to produced regular issue 1870 Seated quarters. Struck in copper with a plain edge. Struck in silver, copper, and aluminum. There are fewer than a dozen pieces known in copper and with a plain edge. Significant portions of mint red remain on each side with slight mellowing in the fields.
