1870 Standard Silver Quarter in Silver
Judd-894, PR65 Cameo, Gold CAC
1870 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-894, Pollock-1001,
R.5, PR65 Cameo PCGS. Gold CAC. Standard Silver design with a
bust of Liberty facing right on the obverse. Liberty wears a ribbon
inscribed LIBERTY, the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is at the
periphery, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is on a scroll below. The
reverse depicts the denomination 25 CENTS and the date 1870 within
a wreath of corn and cotton. The word STANDARD is at the top.
Struck in silver with a reeded edge. The reeded edge pieces in
silver are known with thin and thick planchets. This appears to be
a thin planchet variant. The outstanding surface quality is readily
apparent, as reinforced by the Gold CAC sticker. Deeply reflective
mirrors on each side with frosted devices that yield the Cameo
