    1870 Standard Silver Quarter in Copper
    Judd-902, PR63 Red and Brown

    1870 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-902, Pollock-1017, R.7, PR63 Red and Brown PCGS. The bust of Liberty faces right on the obverse, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST on a scroll below. Liberty's hair is tied in a bun, and her headband is ornamented with a star. On the reverse, the denomination 25 CENTS and date 1870 are in a wreath of cotton and corn, with the inscription STANDARD above. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. The fields are flashy beneath rich shades of gunmetal-blue, bright copper-orange, and magenta toning. The obverse displays bold clash marks, especially near the upper legend. Lint marks occur over the R in AMERICA and between CE in CENTS.
