1870 Standard Silver Half Dollar in Silver
    Judd-927A, Pollock-1046, PR62

1870 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-927A, Pollock-1046, R.7, PR62 PCGS. The obverse has Liberty seated left, surrounded by thirteen stars with the date below. Liberty supports a shield with her right hand, and holds an olive sprig with her left hand. The shield is inscribed with the banner LIBERTY. The reverse displays a wreath of cotton and corn. 50 CENTS is located high within the wreath, and STANDARD is centered above. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Similar to Judd-927, but LIBERTY has raised letters. A well-struck and lightly toned example with a few wispy lines that are normal for the grade.

Thanks to Heritage I realized a handsome profit for my coin submissions and intend to send most of the remainder of my collection to Heritage Auction Galleries for future auctions.
