Struck in Copper, PR64 Red

1870 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-947, Pollock-1075, R.7, PR64 Red ANACS. The obverse design is a bust of Liberty facing right, with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST on a scroll below. Liberty is wearing a cap ornamented with two stars, and a ribbon crossing her shoulder is inscribed LIBERTY in raised letters. The reverse has the denomination 50 CENTS and the date 1870 within a wreath of cotton and corn, with the inscription STANDARD above. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. The exposed fields and motifs display full Red color, while deeper steel-blue tones appear within the hidden areas. Strike characteristics are full. Trivial ticks, lint marks, and a few tiny flecks of carbon are noted on each side. Housed in a small-sized holder.
