    Delicately Toned Judd-965 Half Dollar
    Copper, PR66 Red and Brown

1870 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-965, Pollock-1061, R.7, PR66 Red and Brown NGC. The obverse with Liberty in exaggerated Phrygian cap with two stars visible, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around above, IN GOD WE TRUST on scroll below. The reverse has the usual Standard Silver appearance with wreath, 50 / CENTS within, date below. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Only mildly contrasted but decidedly reflective, this coin has great appeal thanks to delicate partial patina. Considerable copper-pink and peach color remains, though washes of lavender, blue, and violet grant this well-preserved Standard Silver pattern added eye appeal. (NGC ID# 2WFM, PCGS# 71211)

HA is a traditional auction house, they set up their auctions slightly different from typical domain auctions. This works well, it seems to be a good mix of old age (live bidding in a prestigious hotel) and new age (online bidding).
