1870 Standard Silver Half in Silver
    Judd-981, Toned PR66

1870 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-981, Pollock-1101, High R.6, PR66 NGC. Liberty faces right, her hair tied in a bun, wearing a starless diadem inscribed LIBERTY. IN GOD WE TRUST is on a scroll at the bottom rim, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around. On the reverse a wreath of corn and cotton encloses 50 / CENTS, the latter in an upcurving arc, with STANDARD at the upper rim and the date 1870 inside the wreath. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Dusky golden-lavender patina deepens around the peripheries. The toning fails to conceal pronounced field reflectivity, and the underlying surfaces are impeccably preserved.
