Beautiful and Rare 1870 Standard Silver Half Dollar Pattern in Copper, Judd-990

1870 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-990, Pollock-1119, R.8, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. Standard Silver design with Liberty facing right wearing a headband with a star, a scroll below, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above. The reverse is similar to the one used in 1869 with 50 CENTS in the center and is surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel with 1870 below and STANDARD SILVER above. These were sold with the other denominations for $15. Struck in copper with a plain edge. This is a fabulous pattern that has lovely blue, red, and brown iridescence on each side with significant amounts of original orange-red luster clinging to the right portions of both obverse and reverse.
