1870 William Barber Half Dime in Copper
    Judd-817, PR64 Red and Brown

1870 H10C Half Dime, Judd-817, Pollock-906, R.6, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. A seated figure of Liberty faces left with a globe. An unsupported liberty pole appears to impale her left (facing) arm. The reverse is the same design used to coin regular issue 1870 half dimes. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. About a dozen examples are known in copper and with a reeded edge. Silver and aluminum pieces were also struck with both a plain and reeded edge. Significant portions of original copper is seen across each side and is especially noticeable when the fields are flashed beneath a light. Sharply struck.
