Description

Iridescently Toned Gem 1870 Half Dime Pattern, Judd-817

1870 H10C Half Dime, Judd-817, Pollock-906, R.6, PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. The first of two examples of this popular half dime pattern. This piece has a curious iridescent quality--turned one way it is a uniform brown coin, turned another and it shows spectacular scarlet and sky-blue patination. Fully struck throughout, the only mentionable defect is a tiny planchet flake in the right obverse field.(#71061)
