1871 Seated Liberty Ten Cents in Copper, Judd-1081

1871 Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-1081, Pollock-1217, PR 61 Red and Brown PCGS. The identical Longacre Seated Liberty design as the preceding, her head decorated with an Indian headdress, paired with the same reverse that features 10 CENTS in the center, surrounded by a wreath of cotton and corn, and the word STANDARD at the top of the reverse. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Moderately hairlined with lilac and reddish-gold color. The glossy surfaces give the appearance of being lacquered, and thus are probably attributable to Farouk.
From the Gene Wolfe Collection of Pattern Coinage.
