Brilliant 1871 Five Cent Pattern
Judd-1050, PR65
1871 5C Five Cents, Judd-1050, Pollock-1184, Low R.6, PR65
NGC. The obverse bears a portrait of Liberty similar to that
used on the nickel three cent piece. The date is below and UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA is above the central device. The reverse depicts
a reversed Roman numeral five and the word CENTS is within a
wreath. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. This popular pattern is
brilliant throughout with deeply mirrored fields on each side.
