Description

1871 H10C Standard Silver Half Dime, Judd-1065, Pollock-1200, R.6-7, PR 65 NGC. Liberty faces left on the obverse with the date below, wearing an Indian headdress and supporting a Liberty pole with her right hand. Her left hand rests on a globe inscribed LIBERTY. Behind are two flags, one with 13 stars. Thirteen stars surround the border. The reverse depicts 5 CENTS within a wreath of cotton and corn with the inscription STANDARD above. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. The surfaces display nicely mirrored fields, with small patches of hairlines present that limit the grade. The deep blue-gray fields and the lighter silver devices combine to create an attractive cameo appearance. A desirable and beautiful example of this rare pattern issue.
