    1872 $3 Three Dollar, Judd-1238, Pollock-1380, High R.7, PR63 Brown NGC. A dies trial from the regular-issue three dollar dies for the year 1872. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. suggests fewer than half a dozen examples are known. Only two examples are currently certified (both at NGC). The Bass example was formerly graded by PCGS, but that coin no longer appears in the Population Report. This Select three dollar pattern showcases smooth chocolate-brown surfaces and full definition on the hair curls, headdress, and wreath elements.
