    1873 Bailly Trade Dollar, PR62
    Judd-1281, Silver, Reeded Edge

1873 T$1 Trade Dollar, Judd-1281, Pollock-1423, R.4, PR62 NGC. The obverse, designed by J. A. Bailly, features a coiled hair bust of Liberty facing left. The reverse resembles the Amazonian pattern silver dollar, except for a reduction in the size of the eagle and the addition of the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM above and the weight and fineness below. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Deep original cobalt-blue and wheat-gold toning alternates across attractive surfaces. Portions of the eagle are incompletely brought up, due to metal flow into the portrait of Liberty.
