    Description

1873 Trade Dollar Pattern in Silver
    Judd-1322, PR63

1873 T$1 Trade Dollar, Judd-1322, Pollock-1465, R.4, PR63 NGC. The obverse is nearly indistinguishable from the accepted design, the only difference being a longer rock base that extends to the right (facing) rim behind Liberty. The reverse exhibits a small eagle high in the field, with spread wings and holding a ribbon in its beak. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. This obverse / reverse design was also struck in silver with a plain edge, copper, and aluminum. This is an attractive example for the grade. The fields are well-mirrored and each side shows just the slightest trace of patina.
