    Rare 1873 Pattern Trade Dollar

    1873 Trade Dollar, Judd-1277, Pollock-1419, R.6-7, PR 64 PCGS. A head of Liberty faces left with 13 stars and the date below. She is wearing a coronet inscribed LIBERTY and beaded along the top. Reverse: the denomination TRADE DOLLAR, the weight 420 GRAINS, and the quality of the metal 900 FINE are inscribed within an olive wreath. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is above, IN GOD WE TRUST is seen on a scroll below. Struck in silver with a plain edge. Well struck except for several of the stars on the obverse. A deeply toned example of this important pattern rarity.
