Description

Fascinating Pattern 1875 Twenty Cent Piece, Judd-1403

1875 20C Twenty Cents, Judd-1403, Pollock-1546, R.6, PR 64 PCGS. Liberty is seen on the obverse resting upon a globe with the word LIBERTY on it. Holding a small branch, Liberty is facing out to sea with a steam ship in the distance. The design is encompassed by thirteen stars and the date rests below it. A laurel wreath wraps 20 CENTS into the design on the reverse. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA also adorn the reverse periphery. Struck in silver with a plain edge. The deep original toning conceals the few wispy abrasions that probably rule out a full Gem grade. The eye appeal is, however, exceptional, due in part to the intriguing and impressive design. An interesting and seldom-offered pattern.
