Very Scarce 1875 Twenty Cents Pattern, Judd-1407

1875 Twenty Cents, Judd-1407, Pollock-1550, R.6, PR 63 PCGS. The obverse is similar to the adopted die but LIBERTY is incused rather than raised as on the regular issue coins. The reverse, however, is quite different with this being the famous 1/5 OF A DOLLAR design. Struck in silver with a plain edge. Beautifully toned in shades of blue, rose, and purple. The rich shadings of color partially obscure the mirrored flash in the fields unless the coin is tilted just so, then the fields jump to life.
