More Affordable Pattern 1875 Twenty Cent Piece

1875 20C Twenty Cents, Judd-1408, Pollock-1551, R.7--Corroded--ANACS. Net PR55. The obverse is very similar to the adopted design, but the date is smaller and LIBERTY is incuse on the ribbon. On the reverse, the denomination 1/5 OF A DOLLAR is surrounded by a laurel wreath. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is above, and another expression of the denomination, TWENTY CENTS, is below. Struck in copper with a plain edge. The majority of the surface area is relatively attractive with rich antique-gold and medium brown toning over sharply impressed features. The obverse reveals pleasing reflectivity at direct angles, and flickers of more vivid undertones are noted on the reverse. Now for the problems. There are a few moderate spots near the upper obverse rim, and a sizeable spot over the right obverse affects the constitution of the field and star 12.
