Bright 1875 'Liberty at the Seashore'
    Trade Dollar, Judd-1426, PR62

1875 T$1 Trade Dollar, Judd-1426, Pollock-1569, High R.7, PR62 NGC. A seated figure of Liberty faces left at the seashore, with 13 stars ringing the rim and the date 1875 below. Liberty holds an olive branch and rests her left hand on a globe reading LIBERTY, and two flags and a sheaf of wheat flank her. A steamship with sails appears in the water, with sails billowing in one direction and steam blowing in the opposite direction. A scroll above the date reads IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse is that of the as-issued Trade dollar, Type One, produced from 1873 through 1876, with berry below the eagle's claw. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. At least five examples of this pattern are known. This piece has bright surfaces with hairlines. Light, scattered toning is seen around the margins on each side.

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
